The Early Years
The St-Hubert tradition is rooted in innovation. Our first family restaurant opened its doors in 1951 on St-Hubert Street in Montreal. From the beginning, founders Hélène and René Léger showed a remarkable gift for knowing what consumers want and giving it to them. One of their lasting legacies is free home delivery service, which they pioneered in Canada. They also took an avant-garde approach to advertising, using radio and TV commercials to bring people into their St-Hubert Street eatery.
The Légers succeeded in turning their dream into a reality. Thanks to their determination and innovative spirit, St-Hubert is now at the forefront of the Quebec restaurant industry.
