Inclusive hiring

Inclusive hiring

St-Hubert Group aims to maintain and proactively improve an inclusive culture in a welcoming workplace for all employees, whether in our rotisseries, administrative offices or food manufacturing plant.

Hiring of autistic people in rotisseries

With this in mind, St-Hubert is currently offering positions better adapted to autistic people in its restaurants. The adaptations put in place will vary based on the needs and abilities of the employees hired. To better support its autistic employees, St. Hubert is collaborating with Giant Steps to facilitate best practice for the necessary adaptations. Giant Steps currently supports and coaches franchisees at St. Hubert in the hiring and retention of employees with Fondation Autiste & majeur supporting this employment and inclusion pilot project.

Inclusion of people with disabilities

To date, 13 people with visual impairment work at the CSC (Customer Service Centre) at order taking and excel in their work. Focused on the welfare of our employees, we consulted with Institut Nazareth, a centre that provides resources for people with visual impairment, so that they may be equipped to work from their home comfortably and efficiently.

We have also hired people with various disabilities in our rotisserie teams. We believe in the inclusion of all those who appreciate and respect our values and who care about offering a friendly and personalized customer experience. For example, Julien is a well known host for over 7 years, at the Val-d’Or rotisserie. Julien has Down’s syndrome. He has managed to successfully be a part of his team. Annie Gauthier, the rotisserie’s Franchisee, added: “I wanted to educate employees and customers about someone like Julien. I wanted to help break down barriers.” Her mission was accomplished because Julien is loved by all those who visit the Val-d’Or St-Hubert rotisserie and he has found a second family amongst his team!

Forty have already arrived in Quebec, many with their families. Our international recruitments already span at least 6 countries, 4 languages and 2 continents.
