Pork Cutlets with Apples and Ice Cider

Ingredients List

  • 1 pouch (46 g) St-Hubert Brown Gravy Mix
  • 1 1/3 lb (600 g) pork cutlet
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) canola oil
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) butter
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 apples, quartered
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 2 oz (60 ml) ice cider
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) freshly chopped parsley

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 °F (170 °C).
  2. In a large saucepan on high, heat oil and melt the butter. When the butter stops foaming, sear the cutlets on both sides, season, transfer to an ovenproof dish and keep warm in the oven.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, add remaining butter to pan and brown onions and apples.
  4. Meanwhile, mix the contents of the bag with 1 ¾ cups (430 ml) of water and microwave as directed on the package.
  5. Pour the ice cider into the pan, add the brown sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add pork cutlets and cooking juices. Correct seasoning and sprinkle with parsley to serve.
